Scenic Flights

Scenic flights depart from Moruya airport and take up to 3 people in a Cessna 172 to:

Bay Special - From Moruya airport , over Broulee and Mogo zoo and the Deep Creek dam to the Batemans Bay bridge. After a tour of the town we head to the Tollgate Islands at the head of the bay and then enjoy a joy flight along the beaches, past Lilli Pilli, Malua Bay, Rosedale, Tomakin and back - 25 minutes

Great Lakes - From Moruya, head South along the beautiful beaches past Congo and Bingi, to Tuross and Coila lakes. Look out for Whales and Dolphins along the way. See the amazing waterways making their way to the ocean and return - 25 minutes

Montague Island - From Moruya, head South along the beaches past Tuross to Dalmeny and across to Montague island to see the Seals, and maybe a Whale. Circle the Lighhouse and see the Penguin roosts and seal rocks. Then across to Narooma and get the best view of Mount Gulaga (formerly Mount Dromedary) on the way. Back up the coast and keep a lookout for Dolphins. - 40 minutes

Pigeon House - From Moruya, head North over Batemans Bay and along the Clyde river past Nelligen to Pigeon House mountain. See if you can spot the hikers getting the views "the hard way", and enjoy the amazing views of the Castles rock formations. Then head over to Ulladulla before we fly South along the beaches past Brush Island, Merry Beach and Durass. - 60 minutes

Gazelle

The Gazelle CA25N aircraft is a 2-place RAA trainer that is absolutely wonderful as a local touring machine. It has high wings and excellent control feel. Most of our students start off in this aircraft before developing their skill in other aircraft.

Foxbat

The Foxbat A22LS is a sleek and modern 2-place RAA trainer, fitted with a control yoke and a center throttle. It has a high wing and clear windows all around giving it stunning visibility, and amazing slow speed and STOL (short take-off and landing) handling where you can feel like you are floating in the air.

Cessna 150

The Cessna 150 aircraft are famous for their use as a training machine and for thousands of private pilots around the world, ranking in as the 4th most produced civilian plane ever. It is a brilliant choice when starting out in GA aircraft. It is a 2-place aircraft that is fun to fly and is an excellent touring machine also.

Cessna 172XP

The Cessna 172XP is a powerful 4-seat aircraft that is certified to fly IFR (by instruments), being the most successful mass produced aircraft in history. It is used for cross-country navigation training, Private and Commercial pilot training, Night flying training and IFR training. Scenic flights are popular in this aircraft as it is an excellent sight-seeing platform for friends and family with its high wing and large windows.

Citabria

The American Champion Citabria is a tandem 2-place GA aircraft primarily used in tailwheel training and aerobatics. It is fun and a brilliant choice to further your piloting skills. With a "conventional" undercarriage, it adds a further dimension to piloting skills with tail-wheel operations in this aircraft.

Brumby

The Brumby is made in Cowra NSW and is a 2-seat RAA aircraft that is great for touring and having fun. It has low wings, excellent visibility and light controls. It uses only 20 litres of fuel per hour, and cruises faster than 100 knots, so navigations across country are a pleasure.

The Club

The historic Moruya Aero Club is located on the main entrance road to the Moruya Airport..

Close to the beach and only a short drive from the town. Amenities include bunk rooms, showers and kitchen.

An active social club and a friendly welcome make Moruya a great place to visit

Graham White

Flying Instructor for General Aviation (GA) and Recreational Aviation (RAA) and an Accredited CASA testing officer. Graham has over 19,000 flying hours.
